But to connect to the Digital audio devices you must have enabled the Realtek Digital Output option in your computer.

There are four methods that you can try to fix the no sound issue when you connect a speaker to the computer:
- Set the speaker as the default playback device
- Update the audio drivers in your computer
- Uninstall and Reinstall the Realtek audio driver
- Run the Playing audio troubleshooter.
Set the speaker as the default playback device:
A lot of time the Realtek digital output is set as the default playback device that means it will connect to digital Realtek audio devices.
Hence, when you connect the regular speaker to the computer it does not produce any sound. To change the default playback device follow the below steps
1] Click on start and Go to control panel
2] In control panel tap on Hardware and Sound
3] Now under Hardware and Sound Go to the third option sound and click on manage audio devices.
4] After you click a pop up window will appear in that under the playback menu you will find Realtek Digital Output as the default playback device
5] Tap on the speaker and click on set default to change the default playback device.
Shortcut method to set speaker as the default playback device:
Drag your mouse pointer to the taskbar below and >>right click on the speaker icon on the left-hand side.
In that click on the playback device option it will take you to the playback device
Now click on the speaker you want to set as default playback device and click on set default.
Update the audio drivers in your computer:
There are different methods through which you can update the audio drivers in your pc:
#Method 1:
–> Go to start and open control panel on your computer
–> In control panel click on Hardware and Sound and under Devices and printers click on Device Manager to open it.
–> Or press the key combination Windows + R and in the dialogue box type “devmgmt.msc” and press Enter to open Device Manager.
–> Now click on the arrow before Audio inputs and outputs and >> in that right click on each device and click on update driver and >>select Search automatically for drivers.
–> Similarly, repeat the above steps for Sound video and game controllers option. This will update the audio drivers to the latest version
–> After the update is complete restart your computer.
#Method 2:
–> Download Driver Easy from the internet and install it on your computer
–>Open the application and click on Scan. After the scan is complete click on updates option it will list all the driver updates.
–> Select the audio drivers and other drivers you want to update and click on the update button in front of them.
Uninstall and Re-install the Realtek audio driver:
Even if updating the audio drivers to the latest version does not work then you can try uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers. Also, you can try downgrading the drivers to the previous versions.
To update you need to go to the device manager and uninstall every driver one by one under Audio inputs and outputs and Sound and video controller
1] Click on the start button and open control panel and under Hardware and sounds go to device manager
2] In device manager click on the arrow before Audio input and output. It will show all the devices right click on one device and click on uninstall. Repeat the step with the other devices in the list.
3] Similarly uninstall the devices under Sound video and game controller.
4] Now close all the tabs and open device manager again and click on the devices under Audio input and output and Sound video and game controller , the computer will automatically install the device again.
5] To downgrade the driver to previous version >>go to device manager >>Double click on the device >>a pop up window will appear >>go to driver and click on Roll Back driver.
Run the Playing audio troubleshooter:
You can also try troubleshooting through the windows built-in feature in the settings to fix the no audio issue. To do it follow the below steps:
1] Open start and click on the gear icon to open settings
2] Under settings click on update and security
3] A new window will open now click on Troubleshoot in the side navigation bar.
4] Under troubleshoot click on Additional troubleshooters
5] In Additional troubleshooters tap on playing sound and click on Run the troubleshoot.
6] It will automatically find the errors and solve the errors if any.
